Veterans Program

Did You Know?  That 1 out of every 4 dying Americans is a Veteran!

We Honor Veterans is a program of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO) in collaboration withe the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).  These three entities invite hospice organizations, such as Accredited Hospices of America, to partnership with them to focus on compassionate and respectful care for America's Veterans.

Veterans often have unique needs such as services-related illnesses, PTSD, psychosocial issues and more.  Accredited Hospices of America will work with the Veteran's Administration and the families of veterans that we are honored to provide services for to ensure that they receive the assistance they need.

The "We Honor Veterans" Program ensures ongoing collaboration between our hospice team and the Veteran's Administration.  Accredited Hospices of America strongly believes that those who have served in our military should receive excellent care and coordinated services when they face serious illness.  To this end, Accredited Hospice of America is in active partnership with the VA to help patients to apply vor VA benefits, educating patients and families on available benefits, and working as a team with VA medical staff.  In many cases, veterans and their families can access both VA and Medicare benefits.  Our admissions and billing staff can assist you in accessing all the services to which you are entitled.  Veterans may have unique psycho-social and medical needs at the end of their lives, and our staff receives special training in meeting those needs.
